When I was three, I got married for the first time.  After all, I got to wear a pretty dress and walk down the aisle, so it was irrelevant that it was my mum and dad saying the vows. At my second wedding (this time for real), we went back and had our own photos taken at the same spot.  My hubby and I have been together over 10 years now and have very different opinions about the first time we met. Two different places, two years apart. Of course, I’m right. I have the photo to prove it. We live on the edge of Auckland with our furry feline Sabian and whatever current car is being rebuilt in the garage.

I get my creative side from my mum and my punny jokes from my dad. I’m not really a city girl.  I grew up in Taupo and despite living in the city of sails for over a decade now, I still use google maps to get around.  Thanks to my rocker husband who plays drums in a professional covers band, I think music is best live. I’ll choose sweet over savoury and tea over coffee.  I prefer baking to cooking, but have been told I don’t do it as well as my mother-in-law, but that’s ok cause I agree. I love a good movie but prefer a good book.  Weirdly for a kiwi I enjoy following baseball and my ultimate goal is to get to a live game in the states one day. I LOVE travelling.  I’m a planner and usually have things all laid out before we go, but through my travels I’ve learned that there is beauty in the spontaneous.

My very first camera was a gift from my Nana, she was about to miss an important milestone in life.  In giving me a camera she gave herself a window into the moments she was absent from and little did she realise, me a new obsession.

I want you to feel that same connection back to a moment. I don’t want you to just look at a picture, I want you to look at a picture and feel!  Remember the feeling of the breeze in your hair, the warmth of the sun on your face, the soft touch of your forever love holding your hand. Laugh a little, cry a little and not just remember, but be transported back in time.

If that is what you want out of your photo experience, drop me a line and tell me your story!  I love a good story! Lets meet up for coffee (or tea) or something stronger. I want to hear all about your plans and hopefully be your professional third wheel!
